...make me...

OK, I know it's been a while, but I haven't exactly been home much on the weekend to write up a new blog for the week, so I'll do it now.

First off, I'm sure you're all wondering how my new job is going. Well it's going OK. And if you know me, I rarely say much more than that when asked, so don't go thinking it's horrible. The trainer is nice, the majority of my training class is umm, well adjusted? There's one exception, and if there's anyone from the class reading this (which I doubt) you'll know what I mean. The kind of guy that just makes you want to stab in the leg with a pen... Ahh sweet release... But anyway, besides that, the training isn't bad. The course moves kind of fast with the majority of it being simply reading outloud from the training material. Not exactly a rocket science job, but the tricky part will be in the sales apparently. So we're not exactly "tech support" as much as "troubleshooting sales". But thankfully because I'm bilingual, I will be able to advance much faster than my classmates. There's only two of us bilingual type folk in the class. I'm sort of happy about that, but on the downside, I haven't dealt with any of the terms in french yet... I should review that at some point. But then again, if I know me (which I hope I do) I know that I won't crack a book outside of that class. So we'll just see how things develop.

Well, that's enough job ramble. What else happened of late? Ahh yes, the semi-ritualistic visit to the bar on Saturday night. I must say it was an interesting evening. There seemed to be an odd amount of pedestrians that night, and to my horror, I found out that it was last day of the rib fest. I missed it again this year! God this sucks. Where's my good jew friend to remind me of all the delicious ribs! I'm sad about that, but there's always next year.

But back to the bar. It was a good night. A large portion of the gang was there, along with a couple non-frequent people. One in perticular was a dishy twenty-something who recently broke up with her boyfriend. The reason provided seem phony and superficial (no, she's not ugly, something about piercings and tattoos). So anyway, the bar was a happy place. Only played hackey once with my NB companions (too many peds). OK, I realize this is kind of jumpy. But meh, live with it. One interesting note for the night, I was the only one drinking from the newly stocked Rickard's Honey Brown. I was slightly impressed with that when I was drinking it... It didn't cross my mind that the beer could be bad since I found it tasty at the time. Now to follow up my beer drinking and friend chatting, I tagged along with some friends (and the non-frequent dumpee) to go to the elgin street diner. This is not a place I would go sober. I was told how great their poutine was, and well... I was dissapointed. Their fries were sad, and the sauce just wasn't right. THe only passable thing on it was the cheese. You can get decent cheese curds around here. Definitely a happy purchase at the local costco (which actually serves a better poutine IMHO).

Anyway, I'm really distracted by this frisbee the trainor threw at me today (to shut me up while we were going over the material, score free stuff!) It's one of these folding things or something. Not really a frisbee so much as a folding flimsy flying thing. Maybe I'll give it to my little cousin after I get a good frisbee thrown at me! :D
