...make me...

Double over-time? Come on and finish it already!

So if you're not watching the Calgary/Tampa Bay stanley cup final, what are you doing? Me, I'm blogging during the break in periods.

Lots and lots of Links 2004. I believe I'm addicted to the online portion of this game. Truly great. I'm in 5 tournaments right now, and I doubt I'll win any of them, but I'm having a great time. If you have Xbox live and play any of these XSN sports games, well send me a message, I'll take you on! (If I have the game that is.)

As you know, I watch a lot of movies, and this week really hasn't been much of an exception. I rented Club Dread and Bubba Ho-Tep on Thursday and I wasn't dissapointed by either. Club Dread presented a comedy horror movie with the same comedy troup of Supertroopers. I very much enjoyed this film but found that it was hardly as memorable as Supertroopers. It will be hard to top that movie in my mind, but I'm sure they'll keep trying as long as they get money for making movies. As for Bubba Ho-Tep, this was an interesting take on the whole "what if" life of Elvis, with an evil mummy thrown in. Crazy old people action adventure... Yeah, it was ok. I gave it bonus points because it had Bruce Campbell, and if you don't, you're just not playing fair.

So that was it for this weeks rentals. I will be going to see the new Harry Potter in theatres tomorrow. It'll be my last day with the nurse before she leaves for the whole summer. :( I will miss her. Oh well, the movie better be good. I don't really expect much considering, but the first two movies weren't that bad, just a little transparent.

Well, Calgary lost, and it's going to game 7. I'm going to get in a game of golf and head to sleep because it's getting late. Catch you on the flip side of reality.

Finally!

Tonight, I rented The Return of the King. It's about time I saw this movie since I failed to see it in theatres. I won't be wasting my money on this release. I'm waiting for the super special edition with all the discs like the previous two movies came out. But anyway, what did I think of the movie? It was ok. It took like 30 minutes to end, but Peter Jackson did not dissapoint with the Shelob. Probably one of the only reasons to see this film if you only had to watch one. Peter Jackson's roots are horror, and I want something scary! The pseudo-leader of the orcs kind of looked like a cross of the retard from the goonies and our former prime minister Jean. Of course, to throw you way off, it sounded a bit like Dr. Claw from the old Inspector Gadget. Yeah, I'd like to know what really goes on in my head too, but as you can tell, it's jumbled and I can't make heads or tails of it either.

As for todays accomplishments... Well I got dinner made for me by the neighbour. Yay for not having to cook food myself! Her internet still isn't working, and the verdict is "another 4 days". Very much a dissapointment when Bell said it'd be ready on Monday. Stupid Bell. Also, I managed to fix one of her two printers. It had a major paper misfeed. A little internet research later, and some options fiddled with and I was about to give up. I figured if the rollers weren't rolling properly, they must be rubbing up on something. I gave the printer a shake and heard a rattle, turned it upside down and out fell a metal clip. This was either something really important, or something that didn't belong in a printer. Either way, the paper now feeds like a dream! I'm nearly done with her PC woes. We went out to price laser toner, and it looks like it's going to cost her 100$. The plus side is that toner takes forever to run out so it really works out being a lot cheaper than inkjet cartridges. Maybe I should get one of these laser dealies?

And now on to my job situation... Still part of the unemployed masses, but I should hear back from a couple leads by weeks end. I'm crossing my fingers that one of the good ones come thru since they pay a lot better than I've been getting lately. To keep me in shawarmas until then, I'll be getting my EI from the month of May I think. I went into the offices today and it seemed to be a favourable visit.

So things are going ok in my world. I hope things are going ok for all of you. Hopefully I'll get my vacation pictures soon!

And remember... "Never get high off your own stash."

Ahh, day after the golf tournament. Perfect time for a blog update!

Yesterday was the 9th annual Gaspé golf tournament. Funny thing about this tournament is it's held nowhere remotely close to the Gaspé! But I go anyway. It's fun. Besides, it's like one of the only times I really get out for golf in the summer. Last summer I golfed a total of twice, and that was it. Only twice! Yeah, I'm not PGA tour golfer or anything, but I figure I should at least get out four or five times a season. Anyway, I'm off track. Yesterday I shot a 110 (four strokes behind my grandfather), and got 750,000 candles for my effort. Now this wasn't a prize based on score of coures, 'cause what can you win with a 110 other than a door prize? Also the steak dinner that goes with the golf was pretty good. My steak had it's share of fat on it which was the only dissapointment for the day.

Last night, a college friend of mine (Tanya) was performing at Maverics, but I didn't get home in time to shower and make it downtown. Sure, I could've went, but then I wouldn't have seen her perform. What's the point in that? Sure, maybe she'd get a little money from the cover I'd pay to get in, but I would've at least wanted to hear one song for my 5 bucks. So, sorry T, I'll try to make it to the next one.

What I did do last night was download the new Crimson Skies content off Xbox Live. I didn't do so well with the new plans, and I'm still ranked at 2 stars. I didn't get a chance to play any of the new game modes, but I did try two of the new planes. They were ok, but I still got my ass handed to me more times than not. I managed to break even my last match (5 kills, 5 deaths) but I probably still lost rank for that. I'm not 100% sure how the whole thing works but there's a formula on the official website I think. If you're on Xbox Live, my name is "ubbus" so watch out for me. Who knows, you've probably already shot me down a few times! Too bad I couldn't change my name to cannon-fodder.

And what did I enjoy for some late night snackage? Well, I grabbed my trusty bottle of Bonté donair sauce and walked to my corner pizza store. I got them to make me a large donair with onions and tomatoes, and of course my donair sauce. Mmm mmm good. I don't think they were quite liberal enough with my sauce, but it can be forgiven since I didn't have to choke down their pathetic sauces. Who the hell puts hot sauce on a donair? Seriously insane people, that's who!

Well, the day is young, and I must jet. Enjoy my good friends and may the good times never end.
