The Outsider Cometh..

Born in the harsh climate of the Rocky Mountains, The Outsider spent most of his life there, training and playing hockey in brutal weather and conditions. From the time he became a capable combatant, The Outsider essentially ruled the wild west. The reign of terror ran until the turn of the century.

The Outsider stayed in Western Canada for as long as he could, until all challenges had been met. With nobody left to conquer, he set sail for Stonehart permanently, having heard rumour that a new battle arena had been created by his nemesis's from the CBHL. Upon claiming a victory in the CBHL, Bercha disappeared for almost a year, leaving no trace of his whereabouts. Long time associates suggested he had returned to his training regime in the harsh wilderness of the Canadian Rockies. It was assumed that his decision was based on a desire to strengthen his game by facing off against nature’s brutal elements, all in solitude.

As time passed and the SGHA grew, the allure of the ultimate battleground became too much to ignore for the man known as The Outsider. Having conquered all challengers in his homeland, he longed for the heat of competition against the only beings capable of giving him a run for his money. He wanted to be among the elite once more. A return to Stonehart was planned accordingly, and through the cunning collaboration him and the Pit Boss, he would join the Gamblers. Several thousand kilometers away from his homeland, this new battle arena would indeed provide all the challenge he could ever imagine, and then some.

Upon his arrival, he signed on as a part of the Gamblers Hockey Club, ironically, paired with ancient rival Prime 34. His arrival in the SGHA provided a spark that lifted the league into it's greatest season to date. Almost every single night of the 2001 summer saw an SGHA battle waged.

The season progressed and the most classic battles of all time were waged. Crazy Train vs. Gamblers established new levels of competition, renowned the world over. How ever, the heat, intensity, passion and fury of the SGHA was not to be a fixture in the life of Bercha. Towards the end of the season, The Outsider simply vanished. Friends and foes, once again do not know what became of him.

The Outsider's time in the SGHA proved to be shorter-lived than anyone had oringally imagined though. Because league play generates so much power and energy, an inherent risk is always present that disaster may occur. That it did. At an unknown point in time, presumed to be late August 2001, The Outsider simply disapeared. Vanished into thin air. Teammates and enemies alike couldnt figure out what became of him. Two theories were put forth:

1) The sheer volume of energy produced during gameplay created a vortex, a.k.a. wormhole. The vortex would have been a passage way to where ever it's passenger chose to go. And so, some say The Outsider secretly entered the game-induced vortex on his own will power, because he wanted more time to train. He might very well have banished himself back to the far west.

2) The second theory is that he simply exploded during a game. He could have possibly come apart on a molecular level, leaving no trace of The Outsider whatsoever.

If he still does exist, many players and fans want to see him return to the SGHA one day, simply because there is much unfinished business. He must end this exodus and prove he is still a man. Whatever the case may be, his departure sparked the beginning of the end for the traditional Crazy Train vs. Gamblers era

Word on the street: There are rumblings around the SGHA community that due to Prime 34's hatred for the former Gamblers, he hunted down The Outsider and engaged in battle, sometime in late 2002. Believe it or not, it is also rumoured that this battle took place in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, possibly the American state of Hawaii. Officially, it is still not known where The Outsider is, or even if he is alive, so these rumours can neither be verified nor denied.

Known For: CBHL Hall of Famer. Playing exclusively on the right wing. Discovered the Z-Ball. The only non-Leafs fan in SGHA history. Leaving the SGHA in the golden era of his career. Producing monster rebounds off the North End goalie. Full-speed slapshots during gameplay. Methodically changing wheels before games. Taking 6 dumps within a 24 hour period.

Srengths: As fierce a right-winger as the league has ever known. Traveled approximately 3000km to make his SGHA debut. Is known for doing SGHA style celebrations while at work for no particular reason. Capable of smashing sticks in the blink of an eye. When present, is as dedicated as anyone to ever lace up the blades. Veteran of all forms of hockey.

Weaknesses: Requires more sleep than any other player. A new version of the icing rule had to be implemented after Bercha repeatedly took bad angle slap shots that deflected off the net and flew far into the summer sky. Turned his back on the infamous “Rain Game.” Has yet to ever capture a Midnight Madness crown.

Signature move: Right Side Ringer. No matter the angle or distance from the goal, Bercha will fire rockets at the target while streaking down the left side. Other players are weary of this loose cannon of a weapon because of its unpredictable nature. To defend this tactic, the defense must force him to the left side

Personal Quote: "There is no substitute."

"I could beat any player on the women's tennis tour."
