Castration Rite #3 was written mostly during December of 2003, but extending a month or so on either side. It dealt with the happiness I was feeling over a good summer gone by, one full of dignity and late-night biking. It was also about friends gone by, especially my long-lost sweetest friend Christina who moved back home and out of my day-to-day life. It was a retrospective of the previous winter where I had felt trapped by my inability to speak to her completely openly, sometimes troubled as I was by the fact that she was to move away.
I have included some selections which didn't make the final cut into the zine; these are marked with a little unseen logo.
Not to get into too much detail, but I felt that this zine was at once more serious and more whimsical than my other ones. I just tried to write from the heart rather than trying to be a loud boyo, hence the difference in style. It's all aspects of Dan!
