Tools



Wiccans use tools in their rituals. These tools act as focusing agents to enhance concentration and energy manipulation.



Here is a list of the more common tools used by Wiccans:



Athame



Black handled knife, used to cast the magick circle and for consecration and purification, and consecration of tools.



Bolline



White handled knife, used to engrave, chop, mince, carve, and cut within the magick circle.



Bell



Rung to signal the beginning or end of something and for centering ones mind.



Besom



A ritual broom used to cleanse the area of  negativity.



Bowls



These are used to contain salt, water, and offerings, flowers etc.



Candles



These are used for marking the four elemental corners, and as symbols of the God and Goddess, and spells, not to mention illumination.



Chalice



A cup on a stem, this is used to hold the ritual beverage and is symbolic of the Goddess.



Censor



Anything to contain burning incense.



Essential Oils



Used for everything from purification, annointing to spellcraft.



God Symbol



Anything which will remind you of the God.



Goddess Symbol



Anything which will remind you of the Goddess.



Incense



Used as an offering, and to focus ones concentration, and for strengthening and purifying the magick circle.



Pentacle



This is used to place objects to be consecrated on, and also acts as a symbol of earth on the altar.



Smudge Sticks



Used to smudge (using smoke to purify people) or to purify an area much like incense does but with a stronger approach.



Wands



Used to invoke spirits and the God and Goddess.  Works as a less threatening Athame.
