Memories of a more gentle time!

"Our Association Goals Are"



  • To provide a venue for associating with old business "friends."

  • Organizing various "Social" functions throughout the year

  • At least two enjoyable luncheons every year.

  • Our Annual Golf Tournament.

  • Also various other functions of interest to all

The membership of our "Association" is made up of people who have worked within the "food industry" over the past sixty plus years. Many members held prominent positions within their various firms.

These people are from the entire spectrum of the"food industry", head office, wholesale, manufacturing, food service industry, the retail distribution industry, food brokerage companies. The membership has people who have been business friends over many years, and this "Association" allows all of us to continue with these friendships.

The "Association" is operated with ten executive. President, Past President, Vice President, Sec/Treasurer, and six directors. All directors are asked to serve for three years. The president, who is selected from the directors, serves only one year. The Vice President automatically becomes President after the President has served out his one year term.

The cost of a yearly membership is $10.00. This money is used to pay for office expenses and also to defray costs of our bi-annual luncheons.

MEMBER OF THE YEAR 2008 - 2009

The Calgary Food & Associate Retiree's, "Member of The Year" was awarded to long time member Jack Stiles. Jack has been a member since the beginning of the "Retirees" association back in 1990.

Jack grew up in Toronto, but we like him just the same. He worked for a number of years with "Rothmans-Benson & Hedges.

He continues to keep our group viable as a long serving director of the Retirees. Without Jack's help and his willingness to continue to serve again, our association would not enjoy the sucess that it does. Jack's present responsibility is arranging our visit to "Stage West" in the February/March period. We thank Jack for all his hard work.
