What Wave Issue 21
Released in October 1992 and came with a cassette called 'Cat o' Nine Tails' and the 1st 500 came with a 2 song single (as in a 7" record) by the Purple Merkins (thanx Tim Gassen). Once again, 2 covers, you have to flip the zine over and you can start reading from the other side. The Betty Page cover was done by Mike Robinson and the evil looking Frankenstein was courtesy of Darren Merinuk. Jam packed 88 pages that had something for everyone that was cool.
Interviews this time with Lee Joseph (about Dionysus Records), Je and Ill, Dod and the Rods (thanx Darren Ross), Dave Rave Conspiracy, Vacant Lot and Love Delegation (Peter Zaremba). Articles on Cellar Dwellars, El Vez, The Gripweeds, Lone Wolves, Jerry Nolan, Reverend Horton Heat, Screeching Weasel (thanx Mike Todd), another benefit, Groove Things, Cryptics, Estrus Records, Janice K, Spiny Anteaters, Sanity Assassins, The Smugglers, Gary Pig Gold's definitions of rock, Supertones, Davie Allan's biker soundtracks, Borderline Productions, Scarlet Drops, The Shambles, Rob Tyner, Platterpuss, Purple Merkins and looking back at some old issues of WW. Still in print, although the Purple Merkins record is long gone.
