Life is a Banquet |
Friends to listen when I need an ear. |
Friends to laugh with throughout the year. |
Friends to help when they need a hand. |
Friends spread out from land to land. |
The door to my heart is always ajar |
To welcome my friends, wherever they are. |
Another place can always be set, |
The table we feast at isn't full yet. |
The banquet is ready, for all to share; |
For friends to partake of, whenever they care. |
Some stop by daily, some just once in awhile, |
They're always welcomed with a heartwarming smile. |
Sometimes it happens that one must go, |
For reasons we don't understand or know. |
Their place is empty, the loss felt deep, |
But the place is always theirs for keeps. |
When the banquet is full, all in their place, |
I'll always look for that missing face. |
Each friend is different, each is unique, |
Each holds in their heart an answer I seek. |
Life is a banquet, for all to partake, |
Friends are friends for friendships' sake; |
No other reasons are needed, just this one: |
Friends are friends always, when all's said and done. |

These candles burn in memory of Christine - my niece, my sister, my best friend. Rest in the arms of angels Chris, you will live in my heart forever. |
