Oh Snap!

I moseyed on to the used CD sale in the UCC at Western today and picked up two CDs.

The first one was The Prodigy's Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned. The weird thing about this CD is that I've been eagerly waiting for it since The Fat of the Land came out in 1997. I used to check Prodigy news sites to see when it was coming out, but it kept getting delayed, so I just gave up. I figured that when it came out, I'd hear them on the radio or TV then go out and buy it. Well, apparently it came out in 2004 and I didn't notice. I don't think anybody noticed. Now, two years later, I finally have it. The first few tracks seem awesome. I have no idea why everyone forgot these guys existed.

The second CD is The Bloodhoung Gang's Hefty Fine. A big sticker on the cover of it says it's a promo record company copy, not to be resold or the FBI will cut you. This made me happy...I was like FUCK yeah. FUCK the GOD DAMN record companies and the SHIT HEAD ASSHOLE FBI. I put the CD in, ready for some JESUS FUCKING DAMN CHRIST mindless swearing that the Bloodhound Gang is known for. The CD fires up, and the first words on the CD are "Eminem's gotta cuss in his raps to sell records, well me too", and I'm like FUCKSHITCUNTI'MSOEXCITED, and then the CD is like...

"So *BLEEP* Will Smith!"

I got the fucking clean version. No cussing.

So now I can't tell if the album sucks, or if the Bloodhound Gang just isn't as funny with all the cussing bleeped out. Although it's musically interesting as always, it doesn't seem as funny or offensive as past efforts. Plus the CD is only half an hour long. It might as well be a single.

Now I am disappointed.

Uh. I have nothing else to write. Bye.

haha.. that fat dude picture make me just heave my lunch... what is the the cover from?.. since the advent of the mp3, i haven't frequented the record store lately... anyhow...

bloodhound gang is the shit.. however, you are correct though, their new cds lack the ingenuity they had during their "roof is on fire" era... i guess they're too busy being on viva la bam to spend time coming up with creative material...

oh, prodigy is outstanding.. they peaked during the early 90's when hackers was #1 in the box office and when the techno trend was beginning its commercial 'whore-ism'.. it's really too bad they dropped into obscurity cuz fat of the land has to be in my top 10 all time favorite albums, just under Hooray for Boobies and #1 Aenima...

its Saint Patricks Day!!

The cover is actually from the Bloodhoung Gang CD. So blame them for making you heave. :)

Yeah Fat of the Land is definitely one of my most listened-to CDs, if not #1. If you mean Tool's Aenima, then you, sir, have excellent taste in music. That's way up there in my list too.

I think they've fallen off the average person's radar. Maybe they're not obscure, but they're no longer mainstream either.

Playing in Toronto eh? Well...I'm probably way too late. Between missing that and tonight's Aerosmith concert in London being cancelled, it is a dark day in concert-going. I guess.

ha.. that's funny... i like how "playing a live show" and "not being obscure" suddenly became the same thing...

Remember Dustin Diamond? (from Saved by the Bell, circa 10 years ago)... He's currently doing a stand up comedy tour, one of his shows is out here in Southern California... I guess that means he's 'mainstream'... Vanilla Ice is touring as well... Does anyone consider him 'hip', 'with it', 'duded up', or 'where it's at' anymore?..

With that said, Prodigy has a kick ass dvd that has alot of their old music videos... I would higly recommend it for any fan, large or small...

btw Greg, how much ass did that show kick?
