Montreal's St. Patrick's Day Parade Drew a Crowd of Over Half a Million People
This year the luck of the Irish was in Montreal today and brought sunshine and mild +5 degrees Celsius temperature. Spring was definitely on it's way. Montreal rich in it's Irish heritage celebrated with a parade that drew over half a million people. This year we have more participants in the parade. There were an array of floats that represented organizations in and outside of the island of Montreal. The media were present and participated in the parade as well. Global TV covered the English telecast of the parade. The parade started a little past 12 noon and took over 3 hours. Another successful year for the Irish and looking forward for more.
Beginning December 1 - 31, Operation Nez Rouge will be back in action to ensure that Holiday revellers who've had a little too much to drink will get home safely. They are always looking for volunteers needed.
