Story:

Sandman is after his last relic. His dreamstone, a ruby-like gem that has untold of powers. Unfortunately this stone was last seen in the possession of the Justice League of America. Will Sandman have to fight for his stone? Also, the concurrent small storyline of Mr. Destiny has come to the forefront. It seems Mr. Destiny, or Mr Dee, as he now likes to be called was the last owner of the gem before the JLA took it from him. He is now breaking out of prison and on his way to reclaim his prize. Unbeknownst to Sandman Mr Dee, has augmented the dreamstone to his own devious ends. Will Sandman, or the insidious Mr Dee reach the gem first?

The Good Stuff:

The Not So Good:

Overall:

This was a pretty good story. Sandman was cool, but Mr Dee, was excellent. He is just so twisted. Shooting that poor woman who was actually helping him. I like how Sandman works into the DC Universe but I wish I understood it better. There are definitely thing I'm missing here. Seeing as this is the last issue of Sandman I've got here I'm a little bit bummed out. It seems like a good book, and I'd like to read more of it. The character is interesting, the art is generally speaking decent, and there's really unlimited potential for such an iconic character. My applause goes out to the creators of this one, especially Neil Gaiman, who's wonderful writing gives this book a real depth.
