Deluding is a means of turning an item into a magic talisman and or giving it a unique name. After an item has had Delusions of Grandeur cast on it, it can then be dubbed in one of two ways.
You can 'dub (object) "(Proper Name)"' which will give it a name in which Every Word Is Capitalised.
You can also 'dub (object) my (adjective) (object)' which will not change its name but will give you another way to parse it and is suitable for turning an item into a talisman so that it can later be bonded without changing its name.
A magic talisman has five degrees of delusion before it finally turns and becomes a true talisman.
1: It has a faint octarine shadow about it that disappears if you look at it squarely.
2: It has a faint octarine shadow about it.
3: It has an octarine shadow about it that flickers occasionally out of the corner of your eye.
4: It has a flickering octarine shadow about it.
5: It has a flickering octarine haze about it.
And when it turns: It has the hazy octarine sparkle of a magical talisman.
To get your item to pass through these stages and finally become a talisman, you need to pander to its new reputation by referring to it by its dubbed name. You can look at it, weigh it, wear and remove it, put it in a container and take it out again, and show it to people who do not have automatic show accept on. If you do not look at it often enough, it will drop down stages and eventually the spell will wear off.
