Description

The 42 tribes of Dragon's Rhest are kept in line by Lanikar's will alone. Through both threats and bribery, he has managed to keep his city internally peaceful, despite it's unusual diversity. Each tribe is expected to pay an homage (i.e. extortion fee) to the grand chief amounting to 10% of their profit. Any tribe's actions must not interfere in any way with another tribe's actions. If a dispute arises, it is to be immediately taken to Lanikar for judgement. If it is clear to Lanikar that both parties have equal claim in the dispute, then the matter must be settled in Thunderdome - two men enter, one man leaves. The chieftan of each tribe in question must face the other in a closed deathmatch - even if this was a personal matter not of their concern. Either chief may choose to bow out of the match at any time prior to the beginning of the match, thus allowing the victor right to the claim, however once the cage is closed, it is up to the stronger opponent whether to be merciful (i.e. quick) or not when the loser is killed. Only once has anyone been foolish enough to question the right of Lanikar's tribe, Entropy, and face Lanikar in Thunderdome. The 18th level Ogre barbarian experienced a very slow, painful death... but was quickly devoured afterwards.
