Top 10

Hello. Welcome to World Superstar. This week, our top ten will be singing their favorite country songs! But unfortunately, it will only be a top nine singing today because one of our contesants, Chris, couldn't get his song in. But that doesn't give everyone a free week. We are still going to have an elimination and just go to a final eight! Good Luck and have fun everyone! The information about next week is on the home page!

First Up, we have Ross singing "To Make You Feel My Love"

Matt – Now I know what people mean about the echo…that echo was really irritating me!! Get rid of it! But the voice was good…not much else to say…alright…it was nothing special for me; you still haven’t blown me away.

Kelly - What’s with the echo? I think it takes away from your voice. And back away from the mic just a bit. I can hear a big…noise…when you say “b” or “p” or notes like that. But I like the sound of your voice. Be careful with the lower notes, it sounds like you’re stretching - It’s not good for the vocal chords. If you maybe ended the note a bit higher, that could work.

Next is Holly singing Faith Hill's "Breathe"

Matt – You do have a unique voice. But I think I would prefer a song where you use your head register, I like that sound better for you. I think I liked your audition better than this, but it was good.

Kelly - Those notes are too low for you to sing. Like I suggested in my first set of comments, try something where you use your head register more. You sound like your shouting. The transition between notes isn’t that great either, but I’m sure it’s only because you’re using your chest register. I strongly urge you to atleast try to find something that you can sing in your head register...just try it…for me?

Now we have Matthew giving his rendition of "Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up"

Matt – Hmm…same song as Thomas. I would have to say that I liked Thomas’ version better. I think your voice needs to be a bit louder and you need a better recording program because it was fuzzy again. Also, at the end of the song, it sounded like you weren’t in sync with Garth’s voice…this could be a problem with having the original version in the background. But I guess it’s not a problem since it’s really hard to find karaoke, so I understand.

Kelly - Again, good song choice. It’s really hard to hear your clip, there’s a lot of static. But, from what I can hear, and like I said to Thomas, not the best vocals, but you get points with me for singing a song like this. It’s hard and you pulled it of. Try to up the vocals next time though. And maybe find out what the static is. It’ll make it easier to hear you.

Next up is Jordan singing "God Bless The USA"

Matt – Well seeing as both judges are Canadian...Just Kidding. You really want to win this, don’t you? That was really good. You have a really strong voice and I think you have a very good chance of winning this! Great job!!

Kelly - Well, seeing as I’m Canadian…jk. No anti-american comments today. I like your voice. I like the projection and the tone and…yeah. I just like it. Good job.

Next is Stephanie singing "How Do I Live"

Matt – Next time ask us if you can’t find back up music…because I did find the backup for this song. But it’s a good performance considering you didn’t have music; it would have been that much better if you had the music though. Alright, I think you’ll make it to next week.

Kelly - I now understand why people want music with clips. It never really mattered to me but now I see why. It seems like you were all over the place with the notes in that song. I can tell though that you have a really nice voice and I think with music in the background your voice would be more steady and not everywhere. I suggested to Holly (last week and this week), to use her head register more, for you though, I suggest maybe using a bit more of your chest register…not so much the head. That might balance things out a bit too. I hear so much potential in your voice though.

Singing next is Christan with "The Girl From Yesterday"

Matt – That was a lot shorter than we asked, and it had no background music. But it’s a clip, so it’s better than nothing. The voice isn’t strong enough for me, but I’m not sure with you yet, I would like to hear you with background music, so I hope you stick around, so I can hear that.

Kelly - Are you trying to hide your voice from someone? It’s a very short clip and it sounds like you’re trying to be quiet. I like the sound of your voice, don’t hide it. Because it was so quiet, my only tip is to just sing. Let it out. Let your voice show and shine. That’s when we’ll hear the real Christan.

Our next performer is Anthony singing "Love Me, Just Leave Me Alone"

Matt – This is painful for me to listen to, maybe I was wrong to pick you for the top ten. I can hardly listen to the whole song. I really didn’t like it at all. You can play the guitar well…but the voice…not good.

Kelly - I thought it was supposed to be country week? Jewel isn’t country….I guess it doesn’t really matter what you sang. The vocals aren’t great. I just don’t like you…vocally or as a person. Unless there’s someone worse, you can count on being gone this week. Payback’s a bitch, isn’t it?

Next up we have Lauren with "The Way You Love Me"

Matt – I really like your voice. It’s kind of weird because you could sing anything, and it would sound good. Plus you always choose fun, catchy songs, which I enjoy a lot. The song was a bit longer than we asked, but that’s just a minor thing. Overall enjoyable performance and I hope you stick around until next week.

Kelly - (No Comment Yet)

And last, but not least is Thomas singing the same song as Matthew with "Ain't Goin Down Til The Sun Comes Up"

Matt – I liked it! It was one of my favorite performances of the week. You have a really good voice for country and I think this is your week! Great job!!

Kelly - WOW, now I’m out of breath! I like this song because it shows what someone can do and that they don’t get tongue twisted. Not the best vocals but you did a good job with your control. Tough job but you did good!
