What Wave Issue 8

Published in November 85, mere months after WW7, were we crazy or didn't we have anything beter to do back then? This is the 1st issue that was printed in the offset method, thanx to regular contributer Mike Niederman. It also featured many different coloured pages thanx to Mike. Check out that front cover, we'd been listening to 'Surfin' On Cedar Lake' by the Slough Boys (a great frat/surf tune from Surfin' In The Midwest Volume 1, a 60's garage punk compilation put out by Unlimited Productions back in 85) and suggested the idea to Dave Clarke, who listened to the song and presented us with this great cover!

This ish featured interviews with The Purple Toads, Jerry Jerry and the Sons of Rhythm Orchestra, The Gruesomes (1st of many interviews with these cool guys who always managed to stay at WW HQ's whenever they were in the area. These guys watched more TV than anybody we've ever met!), Miracle Workers and The Raunch Hands. Articles on The Searchers, Chesterfield Kings (weren't these guys supposed to play at our wedding? you should see the contract these guys sent us, rock stars or what?), The Scientists, Ku Klux Frankenstein, Swedish sounds (from our German contributor Siegfried Klaus), Moxie Records and a pile of other stuff. Long out of print.
