What Wave Issue 6

ww6.jpg (43300 bytes)

Published June 1985. Another issue with photocopied pages and poorly reproduced pictures, although we were getting a little bit better.Contained interviews with The Fleshtones (our 1st of many conversations with these guys, a real class party band)and The Legendary Stardust Cowboy. Articles on The Sci-Phonics (London's coolest band), Bloodbrothers, The Pandoras, The Tryfles, Leroi Brothers, Link Wray, Mod Fun, Del Monas, Charlie Pickett and the Eggs (finally made it to the legendary Star Club in Oshawa to see these guys) and assorted other junk. Came with a free Rasslin card, a postcard sized picture of the Road Warriors drawn by WW resident artiste Dave Clarke.

Also our pics for the top albums (that's as in record, not CD) of 84, with a 1st place tie between The Lyres 'On Fyre' and the Hoodoo Gurus 'Stoneage Romeos', in 2nd place was Plasticland 'Colour Appreciation', 3rd went to the UK compilation 'Rockabilly Psychosis' that featured among others, The Cramps (a perennial WW fave found in every ish), Panther Burns, The Ledge and a slew of other cool bands. Top single was The Fuzztones 'Bad News', followed by The Pandoras, Charlie Pickett and Del Monas, where's the time machine? Long out of print.
