What Wave Issue 13

This one came out in July 1987 and featured another cassette. We decided to do something a little bit different with this tape and made it an all live tape, all recorded right here in London. At the time it sounded like a good idea, but it was a lot more work than a compilation tape in which bands submit finished products. This time we had to weed through hours and hours of live tapes to find the best versions of various songs. The Cheepskates merging Gloria and Hey Little Child was a real   surprise hearing it live and getting it on this tape was a real treat.

This issue featured another brain blastin' cover by Oshawa artist Mike Lodge, his last cover for WW. The interviews this time were The Fuzztones, Wylde Mammoths, Royal Nonesuch, Idiogen, Evan Johns, rockabilly legend Hank Davis and Shark Graffitti. Articles on our latest benefit (ya, we were still losing money at this), Teddy Boys, Drums Along the Gardiner, Cynics, Monks, Cheepskates, Tommy James, Tailgators, Psychotics and a pile of other stuff. Dig that back cover family caricature of the Cramps by Dave Clarke. Out of print.
