Bare Facts: Female ~ Born est.1955 ~ Mother C4 ~ Father Unknown ~ Children Weynton, Lama, C12, Hunter, Squally ~ ID deep curve; finger on leading edge of saddle

Ivory was born around 1955, most likely to C4. Although we can't be sure of family connections before 1973 (the year the study began), researchers assume that she had an older brother (C1), and two uncles, Booker and C7.
When the study began, Ivory was already mature. She had a small calf, only a few years old, who was discovered to be her son Weynton. It's almost definite that Weynton was her first baby, since she was 16 when she had him, a normal age for first moms.
Ivory proved herself a good, attentive mother, and while her own mom ran the matriline, Ivory gave birth to her daughter Lama, and her only unnamed child, C12. Within the next five years, the pod changed dramatically. Ivory's brother C1 and her uncle C7 both passed away; her mom died as well, leaving her in charge of the family. C12 died at the tender age of 7, while Ivory gave birth to her second son, Hunter.
Ivory is the matriarch of the pod to this day. She manages somehow to keep all of her (large) family in check, and surprisingly her daughter hasn't yet branched off into her own matriline. She gave birth once more, at around the age of 36, rather late for an orca, to her last son, Squally. Lama gave her 5 grandchildren (Kisameet, Virago, Quadra, Diver and C25).
Ivory is known to have mated with two different males (and probably others, that we don't know). Lama's father is Caamano, in the R-Clan, while Hunter's father is I32, in G-Clan.
Ivory is currently around 51 years old and still the matriarch of the 7-whale matriline. She has lost only 2 of her children (C12, and her son Weynton, who died at age 29).
She is most easily ID'd by the slight finger mark in her saddle-patch and the deep curve of her fin.
