C7 is another mostly unknown whale. He was a full-grown male at the beginning of the survey, making guesses at his age fairly shaky. By the time the study began, he had just reached maturity, and so was probably born around 1951. Researchers suspected that he was the brother of C4 (the first matriarch of the family) and the well-known male Booker.
At the beginning of the survey, C7 was travelling with his assumed siblings, his niece Ivory, his nephew C1 and his great-nephew Weynton. His mother is completely unknown, as she passed away before the survey began, which means he lost his mother at a fairly young age.
C7 died in 1984, after the birth of his great-niece Lama.
