Here are some of the projects that I have done recently. I try to do projects that are more on the practical side of things, rather than artistic.
This is a Portable Workbench. It comes complete as you see here and fits into the trunk of any car. Closed up like this it measures 23 1/2" x 32 1/2" x 8 1/2" (measurements include the latches, handle and adjustable feet).
This is the Portable Workbench opened up. When open, the work surface is 33 1/2" from the ground. Everything you see here is contained in the top picture. It is made from 1 sheet of 4' x 8' plywood, 3/4" thick. Handy for working outside, at the cottage, or wherever you need a sturdy table.
Here are some other handy items, napkin holders. They can be finished in any colour and in any quantity you wish.
Puzzles of various sizes are a joy to young and old.
Scroll saw pictures and plaques are also fun to do.
Intarsia lends a three-dimensional effect to wood pictures. The inclusion of different kinds of wood also adds to the overall effect.
I don't take much credit for the Holly tree, it grows very well in spite of what I do to it. The table and chairs are more examples of what I make. The chairs are 15 years old and the table was made 3 years ago. They have all been exposed to the damp BC weather and are still in fine shape. The table is made primarily from pine 2x4 lumber and coated with an all-weather acrylic finish.
