The Fool's Journey
by Ned Hogan, Jr.

in and out through one of the lesser tear ducts in his left eye. He tried to hold onto his perspective but it got just too hard as he rolled and skewed simultaniously and failed to properly identify the situation useing the flowery language that he usually used to talk to himself, to himself. the word 'sometimes' just stopped making sense. It was as if language itself had conspired to fracture time into unrecognizable pieces and nothing could escape the giant circle that everything had become

Regio Nuclasis , oh, the orium, the orium

the most banal

seeming things

began touching

destroying themselves artistically

meaning rings

and ran clutching

hell and it's roaring religiousosity

was understandable ever
just sometimes
dreaming
such questions that left too many open ends
creating the kiss that would last always
never need leave
only seeming
because it never happened
out of their minds
with terror
such a tiny seed
sends
blind
eyes
hearing so brightly
magic tigers of the night
where silence would not let go
as she screamed into lights
shinning on her hands
speaking to me
of
infinite
seas
where words over three
could never land
were not expected to make sense
and no difference was ever made with just a fence

No, this is not a mistake!

Through the longing prayer of the initiate an Angel was compelled to revelation, and proclaimed,

"Behold!"

Thereby at once losing sense of self the initiate was borne forth to bear witness to a wonder, and to a single eye a myriad multitude of eyes gazed back in reflection.
There in that vision of visions were a whirlwind of colors, shifting in tides. From a central point stars streamed forth alongside the routes of beams fine as filaments, finer than the Angel's hair. Other stars returned to gather again at their source, and in all of this a great whirring roared, like the music from an endless number of orchestras. Spellbound, and numb of mundane senses, the initiate stared fixedly at the celestial machine of the Cosmos, and there found own self within it, and knew it also to be within the self.

The Angel spoke, with words that seemed chanted, "Here all Divine Names are sung, issuing from the Center, then echoing back again. All things that exist by the art of Divine creation arise from the Source through this Foundation of Light and Sound. And your eye of eyes now bears witness to the truth that all that exists both seen and unseen is rife with life. As though through a prism each thing is seperated, made wholly unique, so that it sings it's own individual praise to the Divine, yet ever remains integral to the One."

Directing a keen focus at the initiate the Angel continued, it's eyes blazing with fire, " Herein this vision is the Knowledge whereby Fools may become as true Kings, or through which kings may make a mockery of their rule. This is the path of discernment and discretion, and from that forebearing of temperance will be found the key to the Art. Make your aim true, and the Heart of hearts will guide home and bring into It's breast your fiery arrow."

"Behold the Gate. It stands before you. To proceed to the greatest Treasure of all treasures you must correctly answer the question that the Gate poses:"

"For what reason and intent do you wish to pass?"

With that the Angel had finished speaking and, without bowing it's head, it smiled. That smile broke into a dazzling radiance, as the brightest dawn of Aurora.

The initiate looked on in wonder, yet while so doing the awareness of a darkness began to unfold; the shadow-self that had grown even darker from the brilliance cast through the words of the Angel, and the vision that had been seen.
Rather than revile that darkness, and with the Knowledge that the Angel had imparted, the initiate lamented over and kissed the shadow-self, and the two enfolded. For the initiate now knew that if the healing is to have begun the two must join in the perfect harmony of the One.

Yet as the Light ebbed and the vision passed from sight, the question remained burning.
It strove for it's answer in the mind and heart of the initiate.
