The biography of Major Ernest Hodkinson DSO
(1907-1989), of the Winnipeg Grenadiers who fought in the World
War Two Battle of Hong Kong as written by his daughter-in-law for
his grand children. Based on personal diaries and interviews it
traces his life from his early days in Winnipeg to the his death
in 1989, including his internment as a Japanese POW in Hong Kong,
subsequent liberation and post-war years in Canada. The final
chapter is a record of his grandchildren's memories of
him.
