Rules
HO rules that we have been
using for years, are essentially the same as we now use for 1/32. The few
exceptions are mainly due to all the HO tracks being four lanes.
We rotate through the
lanes a minimum of twice in a night.
If fourth and third crash
early, the laps remaining is shortened to five.
A rookie must be lapped
in a variable number of laps, based on his or her times.
These rules and the lap
timer program were created originally for 1/24 scale racing by the group
that has come to be known as the "Westside Boys". Their club track
was built on the mezzanine level of a business in south Vancouver in the
mid 1970's, and ran for about 15 years. (more on Westside track coming
soon. See 1/32 page)
Some of these veterans
helped form the current HO club, and are now racing the big cars
again at Archer.
Can-Am Racers!
The final race of the 2000 Can-Am series will be hosted by Gerry Sobie
in
Surrey, BC on Saturday, September 30th. The track will open for
practice
at 10 am with racing starting as close to noon as possible.
The track is a 4 lane MaxTax on a 4X16 table. The track is very
fast & a
lot of fun to race on!
We will be running HOPAC Club Stock cars with Vintage Trans Am
bodies. Check out the HOPAC 2000 rules for details on this class.
There will also be an award for the best appearing race car based on
the
scoring system used at the Western States Championships. So start
getting that favorite body ready for competition.
I will have a number of bodies available on race day if you still need
one.
The following is a list of bodies that Scale Auto had in stock during
Western States weekend. I have at least one of each of them if
you would
like one painted.
