The image is of a violet necked lory. Lory's are parrots of the Loriidae family which have adapted to exclusively feed on pollen, nectar and fruits. Lory's and Lorikeets come from Indonesia and Australia. This particular lory (Eos squamata) is no exception. It frequents the canopy of the coastal forests of a number of islands including the Western Papuan islands, and the northern Moluccas. The bird is stunningly beautiful, as you can see.
