JUST GREAT LAKE APPLETS ~ PHOTOGRAPHERS PAGE
This website would not be possible without the support of the
photographers whose wonderful work I feature. I am honoured that so many photographers, amateur and professional
alike, have granted their approval for the use of their images. I would like to share with interested
visitors a sample of their kind letters (and a few not so kind!). If you click on the link for the images the
particular photographer provides, you have to go "BACK" to return to this page.
I hope that the site has given you some pleasurable surfing. If it has, you can help others to
find and enjoy the site also, by clicking here.

~ I like the puzzle image with the M. C. Escher a lot. Also the
notes on M. C. Escher are very nice ... Therefore you may use the image
"Eight Heads" in the
way as portrayed ... Margareth Verbakel, Cordon Art, B.V.

~ You are ... very good at what you do, a true artist. Thanks for your hard
work and the dedication to add beauty to an already beautiful image. Image

I'm flattered that you like my photos enough to want to use them for your
Lake Applet project. As a birder and bird photographer I attempt to keep my photos as close to reality
as possible, and am on record as opposed to many of the things photographers do
to "improve" on a natural photo. I can't in good faith lend my images to
this artificial "lake reflection" effect and wish that they remain as I've
taken and presented them. (I am totally sympathetic to Richard's basic view and accordingly post his comments here.
My own concerns are not however with the type of imagery that appears on these pages but rather with the potential of
digital manipulation of news and world opinion. It is all a question of degree, I guess.)

Peter, I must admit I am always quite sceptical about letting my images out for use on the web.
My first thought as I read the
e-mail was a probable no! But all it took was one look at the images and I was sold. They are
spectacular.
Please feel free to use the two images mentioned. Your comments below the images are also very
professional and more
than acceptable. Image 1

I sure do enjoy what you are doing with the "Lake" applet. The images you use are real quality
and I am honoured
that you have included two of mine. I really like how you have a photo as the background for
the thumbnails.

I must say I truly enjoyed (my image) 'come alive' on your homepage. Feel free to use it
with my blessing.

I especially like the lake effect on the Mali camels. It gives the photo a very different
meaning. On the other
photo, I would move the lake more to the camels if possible. In a real mirage it would look
like they are standing IN the lake. (image was amended)

I saw the applet. It does look "way cool" as my 9 year old put it. (it does indeed!)

I normally don't give permission for my images to be given on other sites. I have visited your site and
really like what you are doing, along with the sharing of information with others. ~ You do a superb job
with the lake applet and I really like how you handle the pages.

You've done a wonderful job improving my photo. (the credit is all Dr. Bridges'!) Thanks! I have
known about this applet. Your use of it raises
the quality standard for its application.

I'm pretty familiar with the lake applet - I'll be honest, I've found it in most applications
a bit cliche, but do like it on your site.

I was impressed as to what the "Lake" applet looked like with one of my images. You have done a good job
to make it look quite real.

Malie Rich-Griffith

I think the caravan images would look better if the applet were slowed down some - there is hardly
wind in the desert unless there is a sandstorm. Aloha. (Malie was absolutely correct. The reflection
was slowed.)

effect.

By all means use the image. This is the one I use on my business cards and shortly on a range of greeting cards.
One small bit of feed back for you. I think you have the ripples running too fast. Your's seem to be in a bit
of a hurry. (Bob was, of course, correct!)

the effect.
