JUST GREAT LAKE APPLETS ~ COPYRIGHT

If you have come this far, you must like "Lake" applets! This page is a little different from my other pages! I have been gratified to have been granted approval by so many photographers for the use of their work, which after all often represents that photographer's income stream. But I have had a small number of photographers say "No". The reasons vary but often, it would seem they say "No" not because they don't like how I have used their images! Frequently because the copyright currently lies elsewhere, with an image stock company or a publisher and the photographer simply cannot therefore give consent.

I am not complaining. I understand!

Here, for those that are interested, are some links to some wonderful images that made brilliant "Lake" images. Click on the thumbnail to see the original copyrighted image. My understanding is that using thumbnail images in this way is acceptable practice.

I hope that the site has given you some pleasurable surfing. If it has, you can help others to find and enjoy the site also, by clicking here.

A lovely image of a camel train in the Thar Desert in West Rajasthan, India. Taken by professional photographer Eric Meola of Manhattan in New York City.
Taken in East Africa, a fine image of African elephants at a water hole, by professional photographer Malie Rich-Griffith.
Another beautiful image by Eric Meola . The Taj Mahal in the early dawn. The unusual colour is caused by atmospheric pollution!
A fine image of a Canada lily taken by photographer Jim Zipp. I was unable to contact Jim - just unable to justify the minimal image fee for using the image on this site which is, after all, just a labour of love.
From the Kodak digital image library. I don't know the name of the photographer, (a Kodak employee) so cannot directly request permission. Kodak itself indicates that it does not own the image and cannot therefore grant approval. Just one of those things!
A lovely image of a curve-billed thrasher. Photographer Richard Ditch tries to keep his nature images as close to reality as possible, and is opposed to things that "improve" on a natural photo. In these days of image manipulation, who can disagree with him.
