Welcome to yet another Calvin and Hobbes page; although there are many this one is mine and I thank you to keep that in mind. Anyways, as mentioned this page is a tribute to Bill Watterson's "stupendous" creation of the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip. He is a comic genius in the most literal sense of the word. Calvin and Hobbes was created by Watterson as a way to use his earliest creation "Stupendous Man" which was originally known as "Raumfahrer Rolf". Spiff was a project that Watterson drew for a high school German class. Calvin and Hobbes was first published on November 18, 1985. The final publication of Calvin and Hobbes was written as "The Tenth Anniversary Book" and was published in late 1995; the last strip ran on December 31, 1995.

Watterson is a very reclusive person and wishes to remain so. He never did like the attention he got from doing the Calvin and Hobbes book and is a large consideration in his thoughts on whether to resume doing the strip. He may not have liked the deadlines that kept creeping up on him but none the less he enjoys his privacy just like the rest of us. Watterson has helped out a local bookstore in his town by siging books; which by the way is strange because the store owners have never seen Watterson. This bookstore, is the only one in the world that sells autographed copies. They don't advertise it though because they like to respect Watterson's privacy. The only way you can find one of these books is to browse through the store and find a Calvin and Hobbes book with little circular stickers on it that say: "Local Author," and "Autographed Copy."
