THE BIG ONE

His sad eyes look out across the restless sea,
His big heart contains the souls of the drowned
Wherever there strikes such a catastrophe,
Poseidon's loving heart may be found.

What does this look like to those who live on land,
And see the oceans as a giant's bath?
They think Poseidon raised an angry hand
And smote the earth in a fit of wrath.

But look deeply into those liquid eyes
And set aside your restless fears
You'll see drops of water streaming down his face,
But look carefully - some of them are tears.

His Spirit mingles with the foamy sea
In his watery home, he's always there.
And though his deepest feelings are a mystery,
No matter what, we always have his loving care.

For Poseidon, with loving thoughts,
