BOEDROMIA PRAYER

Phoebus Apollo, today we ask for your protection for everyone who is in a situation involving physical risk, either involuntarily or because they felt that being there was morally right.  We ask that you help them to be courageous and to find solutions that are harmful to no one.  Please guard their sense of justice and reasonableness so that they will not use more force than necessary, nor act out of spite, revenge, or a thirst for power or bloodshed.

Apollo, healer of souls, we also ask for your help for the victims and veterans who have survived war or other catastrophe, and whose mental health has been damaged as a result.

Most of all, Apollo, we hope that you can encourage a sense of reasonableness and a desire for peace and fairness in everyone so that physically risky situations will not be the result of human injustice, especially when human resources must be available to help fight and survive natural disasters.

Apollo, thank you for the protection you've given us from physical dangers, whether they were violent people, vicious animals, urban or rural hazards, or microscopic invaders.  We appreciate your continuing support as we make the effort ot maintain our own safety and security.

So mote it be.
