A68 was born in 1997 to Sutlej, when Sutlej was 14. The little one was Sutlej's first calf. An interesting note is that Sutlej gave birth to her first calf at the same age as her mother, Kelsey.
When A68 was born, the family consisted of grandma Kelsey, mom Sutlej, and aunt Schooner.
Sadly, like Kelsey's first calf, A68 became the sixth whale in the A24 matriline to die in it's first year of life. Sutlej lost her first calf in 1997.
