Recommended Suggestions
We believe that with a little improvement, Amway’s
Canadian web site could be very good. Therefore, after carefully analyzing
their current problems, we have put forward the following recommendations.
- Increase their creditability by placing the logos of the associations
they belong to on their homepage.
- Provide an English and French version on their homepage.
- Create a secure extranet that allows their distributors to make
orders online, view the calendar of upcoming events and motivational seminars
and access information that only Amway’s employees are privy to.
- One of Amway’s objectives is to promote the success of their
independent business owners and they can achieve this goal by bringing their
distributors and customers closer online. We suggest that Amway sponsor programs
that help distributors develop their own web page which can complement their
sales initiatives. Amway’s web site can then allow customers to access
an online list of all these Canadian independent distributors in their area.
- Provide a link to Amway main web site (http://www.amway.com).
- Amway can improve its navigation structure by providing userswith
the search engine. Users should have the capability of searching thesiteby
product categories, prices, product availability and special events.
- One customer relation management strategy that we think Amwayshould
develop is an online discussion board where customers and distributorscan
directly interact with one another.
- To promote repeated browsing, we should create an online contest
or sweepstakes. For example, when Tridel created their giveaway a condo contest,
their site traffic went up considerably.
We would also recommend Amway provide their distributors withmore up-to-date
and beneficial information.
- Buttons should be able to stand out and therefore we would recommend
having them in a brighter color and bigger font. We should also make it so
that users can track which links they have already visited.
- In order to reduce costs and make their web site more efficient,
they should create an online catalogue, ordering system and payment system
that enable the distributors to shop and purchase online.
- To increase authenticity and customers’ confidence, Amway
should include more success stories from all different provinces on their
web site.
- We also believe that Amway does not have enough relevant information
currently, therefore there is a lot of empty spaces and useless links. This
problem can be solved after the online catalogue and discussion board have
been implemented.
