Keeping dust
down to a minimum can be quite a chore.
Here are a few suggestions for cleaning it up!
Remember
spring & fall cleaning? Well, this isn't it. To be effective with
dust control this chore needs to be done more than twice a year.
For starters, vacuum every possible surface from the ceiling to the
floor, curtains, shelves, baseboards, lampshades, furniture, everything
-even your mattress!
If your home has a forced air furnace, change the filter once a month
and remember to do your air register openings and cold air return
vents. It's also important to regularly clean air cleaners and air
conditioning on the furnace so it can do its job more efficiently.
When your home includes furry pets remember to brush them regularly
and vacuum their sleeping areas well. Now you're ready to maintain
a weekly control of those dust bunnies!
When dusting always start at the top of a room and work your way down.
Gravity naturally takes over and the dust falls down onto lower surfaces.
Using a slightly dampened terry cloth to wipe off surfaces will pick
up the dust effectively. On window blinds use an old clean sock on
your hand to wipe the dust off.
