GAME #1
Wednesday, September 24
Enterprise jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the
second inning. Shortstop Doug Weese drew a one out walk to begin
the rally and moved to second on an infield single by first baseman
Larry McNeill. Both runners advanced on a high chopper over the
mound by third baseman Albert Jelley to load the bases. Right
fielder Adam Jelley then followed with a ground out to score the first
run of the game. The Cowboys answered in the bottom of the second
inning scoring five times to take control of the game. After
having the first batter on the inning retired, the Cowboys had six
consecutive hits. Catcher Craig Pearce singled to right field and
scored when shortstop Doug Kane hit a deep fly ball to left field for a
triple. First baseman Kevin Buchan followed with a solid line
drive to left field to score Kane. Third baseman Jon Peters then
followed with a single just over the head of the Enterprise first
baseman to move Buchan to second. Pitcher Mike Halligan then
singled down the right field line to score Buchan and move Peters to
third base. After a passed ball allowed Halligan to move to
second base, centre fielder Jeff Hannah followed with a single to
centre that scored both runners. Hannah was thrown out at second
base for the second out of the inning. Right fielder Tim Murphy
was the next batter and he reached base when he was hit in the head by
a pitch, however he was stranded on base. In third inning,
Enterprise had the lead off hitter, left fielder Andy Brown, reach base
on a walk. Brown was then thrown out attempting to steal for the
first out. The next batter, second baseman Lyle Brown, also
reached base on a walk and was caught in a run down after a caught foul
tip for the second out of the inning. In the bottom of the third
inning second baseman Jon Swaine led off the inning by reaching base on
an error and was forced at second base on a ground ball by
Pearce. Kane then hit a ball that was misplayed, allowing the
runners to reach first and second. Buchan was the next batter and
he reached base after being hit in the chest with a pitch. This
caused a confrontation between the two teams as players from both sides
came onto the field. After things had settle down the next
batter, Peters, hit a ball down the right field line that was caught by
fielder Adam Jelley. Pearce tagged on the play and there was a
play at the plate. Jelley made a beautiful throw to nail Pearce
at the plate for the final out of the inning. In the slide at
home plate, Pearce aggressively made contact with the catcher, who in
turn retaliated. Pitcher Kevin Brown then entered the
confrontation followed by Cowboys pitcher and on deck batter Mike
Halligan. Again both benches cleared. This time the umpire
ejected from Enterprise pitcher Kevin Brown and catcher Al Fenwick and
from the Cowboys pitcher Mike Halligan and catcher Craig Pearce.
Order was once again in place and the remainder of the game was played
in a relatively calm fashion. In the fifth inning Enterprise
rallied for two runs off of relief pitcher Scott Nichol with the help
of a two out throwing error. Adam Jelley hit a lead off double to
start the inning and one out later Andy Brown drew a walk. Jelley
was thrown out attempting to reach third on a passed ball that allowed
Brown to move to second. Lyle Brown followed with a ground ball

Burtch. Enterprise added one more run in the seventh inning on an
RBI single by Lyle Brown. Andy Brown had hit a two out single to
left field that was misplayed, allowing Brown to end up on third base.
Lyle Brown followed with a single and moved to second on a walk to Sean
Fenwick, bringing the tying run to the plate. Relief pitcher Dave
Dixon was then retired by Nichol to end the game.

GAME #6
Monday, October 6
In another pitching duel between Kevin Brown of Enterprise and

fifth inning. Both teams had a base runner on in the first
inning. Third baseman Pat Severin hit a single for the Cowboys
and left fielder Andy Brown singled for Enterprise. In the second

with a single to right field that bounced away from the fielder,
allowing Murphy to reach third base with no one out. Andy Brown

Designated player Jon Peters hit a one out single up the middle to
start the rally and was followed by left fielder Brandon Burtch, who
