Brett Contracting Cowboys Vs Napanee Midgets
The Brett Contracting Cowboys struck for the opening run of the game in the top of the first inning when lead off hitter Jeff Hannah drew a walk.  After a successful sacrifice by second baseman Tim Murphy, Hannah advanced to third on a passed ball and later scored on another passed ball.  The Cowboys took a 2-0 lead in the third inning.  Pitcher Mike Halligan reached on a single and was forced out at second on a fielder's choice by Hannah.  Hannah stole second base and then move to third on a passed ball.  Murphy followed with an RBI groundout.  In the fourth inning the Cowboys struck for four more runs.  First baseman Pat Severin led off the inning with a double down the first base line.  Two outs later right fielder Adam Lake drew a walk to put runners on first and third.  Left fielder Brandon Burtch followed with an RBI single past the shortstop to score Severin.  Halligan followed with a single up the middle to score Lake and to move Burtch to third.  Hannah then singled to right field to score Burtch.  The fielder misplayed the ball and allowed Halligan to score and for the Cowboys to take a 6-0 lead.  Shortstop Doug Kane led off the fifth inning with a walk and was later forced out at second on a ground ball by Severin.  Catcher Craig Pearce then hit a line drive homerun to straight away centre field to make the score 8-0.  Third baseman Jon Peters followed with a towering solo homerun to centre field.  Napanee scored their first run of the game off of reliever Scott Nichol in the sixth inning.  Pitcher Andy Madden led off the inning with a single up the middle.  Two outs later, first baseman Brad Weese, with his second triple and third hit of the game, scored Madden with a triple to left field.  The Cowboys finished the scoring in the top of the seventh inning, adding one more run.  First Baseman Kevin Buchan lead off the inning with a single to left field and moved to second on a single by Pearce.  After an error loaded the bases, Buchan scored on an RBI groundout by Lake.
