Sunbury was able to force a fifth game in the series with the win on Wednesday.
Sunbury took the lead in the bottom of the first inning when Cory Gee doubled
down the left field line. Dave Bird came on to pinch run and scored on a single
by Jason Norman. Back to back triples by Paul Tolles and Trevor Corkey gave
Sunbury a 2-0 lead in the third. Later Dave Tolles connected for a three run
homerun to right field to give Sunbury a 5-0. Sydenham fought back scoring
three runs in the fifth inning with an RBI single from Terry Redden and a two
RBI hit by Chris Bowes. Sunbury converted a hit, a single and a couple of
passed balls into a run in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 6-3
before Ryan Bowes hit a two run homerun for Sydenham in the sixth inning.
Sunbury relief pitcher Craig Hollingsworth, replacing starter Bob Finucan, came
on and didn't allow Sydenham to tie the score.
