The Cowboys jumped out to an early
lead in the bottom of the first inning when shortstop Doug Kane reached base on
a walk and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by centre fielder Tim Murphy.
Pitcher Jon Swaine then followed with a line drive home run to left centre
field. In the second inning the Cowboys pushed across another run. Designated
player Adam Lake reached base on an error and pinch runner Geoff Crawford scored
one out later on an RBI single to left field by Murphy. In the fifth the
Cowboys made the score 4-0 when Swaine led off the inning with a hit just in
front of the plate that was thrown into right field, allowing Swaine to make it
to third base. Catcher Craig Pearce then hit a sacrifice fly to right field to
score Swaine. In the top of the sixth inning Napanee put runners on second and
third after a single by designated player Lucas McDonald and a double by Scott
Mills. Swaine was able to get out of the inning with a ground out to first and
two strikeouts. In the bottom of the inning the Cowboys scored three more
runs. First baseman Kevin Buchan led off the inning with an infield single and
then scored when second baseman Adam Garrison hit a deep homerun to right centre
field. One out later Kane hit a solo home run to left. Napanee broke the
shutout in the top of the seventh with two outs when first baseman Lucas McNeill
hit a double down the left field line and then scored on a single by Jay
McKutcheon to left centre field.

After three scoreless innings, the
Cowboys opened the scoring in the fourth inning. Centre fielder Tim Murphy led
off the inning with a walk and scored on a homerun to left centre field by
second baseman Jon Swaine. Pitcher Ryan Sharpe singled and two outs later after
a walk to left fielder David Purdon, first baseman Kevin Buchan hit a double to
centre field to score both runners and make the score 4-0. In the fifth inning
the Cowboys struck for five more runs. Catcher Jamie Purdon led off the inning
with a walk and scored on an RBI double to centre field by Buchan. Right
fielder Tim Ferguson followed with an RBI double down the left field line.
After Murphy reached base on a pass ball on a strikeout, Swaine hit his second
homerun of the game, a three run shot to left centre field. Napanee scored
their lone run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Left fielder Ryan Wagar hit
a triple down the right field line and later scored on a groundout to shortstop
by right fielder Randy Bedwell.

Napanee threatened in the top of
the first inning when second baseman Joe Ryan led off with a single and moved to
second on a single by shortstop Scott Mills. Both runners moved into scoring
position after a sacrifice bunt by Chris Brown. Cowboys pitcher Adam
Garrison was able to get out of the inning on a strike out and a ground out.
The Cowboys reached the scoreboard in the bottom of the first when second
baseman Jon Swaine hit a two out triple to right field and scored on a single
down the third base line by catcher Craig Pearce. After a passed ball moved
Pearce to second he scored when a ball hit by shortstop Doug Kane was misplayed
in right field. Napanee cut the deficit in half in the second inning on an RBI
single by pitcher Kyle Arsenault that score first baseman Luke McNeill who had
singled earlier in the inning. The bottom of the inning saw the Cowboys restore
their two run lead on a sacrifice fly by centre fielder Jeff Hannah that scored
first baseman Kevin Buchan who had earlier doubled. After a scoreless third
inning the Cowboys struck for five runs on four hits with help from a couple of
errors in the fourth. Buchan hit a one out double and pinch runner Josh
Vanderzande score on an RBI single by Hannah. Napanee then walked Swaine to
load the bases and Pearce deliverd a two RBI double. After an error allowed
another run to score, third baseman Ryan Sharpe doubled to left field to score
Pearce. Vanderzande led off the bottom of the fifth inning with a solo homerun
to right centre field and Pearce hit another RBI double to score Hannah who had
walked to round out the scoring for the Cowboys. In the top of the seventh,
Mills reached on a two out error and after back-to-back singles by catcher Chris
Brown and right fielder Chris McKeown loaded the bases, Randy Bedwell drew a
walk to drive in Napanee's second run of the game.
