This, That and the Other Thing

April 23, 2006....I have a sunburn.....

Well, now I have a sunburn on a sunburn. K and I got up early this morning and headed over to the Book Drive. We didn't get a lot as it was the last day but even one book for $1 is excellent. She got about 4 cute little books. Then we went for a drive and she feel asleep. When we finally pulled in the driveway at home, the boys were out playing and she just wanted to be with them. We hung out in the backyard for a few hours before everyone headed in for dinner. I just threw on some burgers and it was a quick, yummy dinner. Not much clean up either which is nice. So, this is my week off before my company descends on my house. I worked on some new siggies today and actually got about 5 or so done. I absolutely love doing them and some of my lineart sites updated recently so I got some more really cute stuff.

Dh will be home in about 30 days and he called tonight. He is really seeming down and there is not much I can do about it. I just listen and let him vent. I will be so glad when he gets home so we can focus on other things and move forward. He needs to get rid of this deployment spot for a while and I am hoping at the new base he will see far less of it. The only thing to contend with there is the likelihood of an overseas tour, which dh really wants.

On a completely different note, our PM isn't making any friends in the military world. He was giving a press speech about the loss of our troops the other day and mentioned how flags won't be flying at half mast for them. PARDON!?!?! Every other base in the country flew their flags lowered but he feels that that is what Rememberance Day is for. What a ...... I can't even think of a word to insert in there. Good grief, is what people thought was a lesser of two evils really just that?! Well, I didn't vote for him, but I have to live with it until the next election anyway. I could have said tons more on this topic but I am too tired to rant tonight.

April 21, 2006....A fun, sunny day outside.....

Today was a fun day. K and I spent the whole afternoon outside. The weather was finally nice enough to hang out and mow the lawn which has not been done since November. The grass was so lush, thick and long it was choking my poor little mower. The really nice thing is our lawn is alot smaller and WAY easier to mow.

K got to play with the boys next door and had a blast. She was so upset when it was time to eat dinner. We ended up going to McD's for dinner which she was so happy about. And speaking of that I just remembered I have a McFlurry in the freezer. Eeeppppsss...I am gonna have to go get it when I am done here. I may have get it out and let it "thaw" a bit.

I have been working lots on my siggy shoppe and have tons of stuff to now offer. I am gonna be working on some linkware and goodies soon. I am soooooo excited as I have tons of ideas floating around. Be sure and check it out and I am still accepting members for a while longer so feel free to sign up.

We have lots to do around the house too. My MIL is coming the first week of May and then my parents are here for the following to and THEN Dh is back home. A whirlwind of May for sure. But it will be fun, and then we have to start getting ready to move.

February 26, 2006....Building sites and buying time.....

OMGosh, I didn't realize it had been so long since I updated here. Once again I have falled behind in keeping the sites up-to-date. I just completed creating another new site, which now brings my total count to 4. That take up so much time, and I guess everytime I think of starting a new one that fact seems to slip my mind. This latest endeavour brings to the internet a new and really cute new siggy shop. I really, really love siggies and don't always have the resources to buy them. So I made a completely free shoppe for other people like me. I really hope everyone enjoys it as much as I love creating the siggies. I have put a link to the shop on this site to try and generate interest.

Things here on the homefront have been really quiet. We are into counting down the DAYS until L will be home for leave. K is getting very excited and so am I. I am soooo glad he will be home for my birthday. I am already keeping my fingers crossed for good weather so we can get out and do some stuff, once he has adjusted to being home. I am also looking forward to the fact that he only has a few weeks left of this tour after he goes back. YAY...maybe then he can be home for a while. Knowing our luck he will be off on course again when he gets home. C'est la vie.

By the Way Sunday

February 21, 2006....Ah, the squeals of Tax Time.....

Ah, the fun just never ends around here. I have spent the last few days working on stuff for our taxes. I really need to get off my butt and get that stuff in the mail. With a little luck we will have it back in time to pay off our living room set with a bit of a savings. WOO HOO...that would be so nice.

I am SOOOO happy I have added a really nice new feature to my blog. I am now offering a FREE monthly siggy to all my readers. You can find the spot to request it just under my ARCHIVES area in the right hand menu. If for some reason you are unable to view the right hand menu, there is also a link to that page in the NAVIGATION section in the left hand menu. I know, I know, too many hands and too many menus. I worked on the one for March for a few hours today and finally am able to offer it to you. Please make sure you read my "terms" to avoid any unneccesary confusion. But please feel free to take a peek at the page and help yourself to a siggy. I absolutely love doing them as they are so much fun. I hope you all love them too.

Besides all that not much else is new here. It's really been pretty quiet. It is kinda nice. Maybe I will get a chance to pamper myself if this keeps up.

February 9, 2006....I am so forgetful.....

OMGosh I was so tired last night I forgot to do my Meme. I decided instead of having a seperate page for them I would just do whatever one rolled around the day I post here. So I will do today's and go from there.

Thursday Threesome:

Onesome--Premium - Have you paid for any access to web services? What services? What are they like? I have a membership to a site were the owner makes siggies. I love it and she is incredibly wonderful.
Twosome--Web - For the free stuff on the web, what is your favorite out there? What do you find yourself looking at everyday? I love siggies, adoptables, linkware, websets, etc. I am always updating and changing the looks of my websites so I love that stuff.
Threesome--Service - What goes on through your mind when you're out and get bad service from a restaurant or store? Do you let it slide off your back like ducks do to water? Or, do you make sure the business knows your dissatisfaction? I usually let it slide off my back and just not go there anymore.

February 8, 2006....I am BACK.....

Well, it is so great to finally be back and updating this site. I was soooo incredibly busy with the other site I run(between daily maintainence and a whole new layout overhaul), home stuff, documentary stuff, and the whole new layout and overhaul of this site. I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT. It took me a while to get everything up and running but I am sooooooo happy. There are lots of new features and things to check out. I ADORE everything from the layout, to the colors, to the graphics. EVERYTHING!!!! LOL

A few friends and I have been asked to participate in a documentary about the lives of military wives. I am thrilled to be able to be a part of it. We are only now in the early phases of awaiting grant approval and then go from there. Still, it is a lot of fun and I can't wait to be on tv sometime next year.

Dd is finally soother and crib free. WOO HOO. We are still having some minor stuggles but she is doing really well. We are gonna start working on the washroom training as time allows and as she is ready. We already have all the neeeded essentials and are trying to introduce them each day, just for a little bit.

January 12, 2006....A Skating Protege....
I took dd to her skating lessons yesterday now that Christmas break is over. I thought 5 weeks off would be too long for her to retain what she had learned but to my amazement it didn't. She actually skated on her own, not a big distance but a distance all the same. Dh is sooo upset he missed it. I can only hope that he is away a lot now so that later on down the road he can be home to see this stuff. I am a proud mama. And oh, today was a relatively quiet day. I played with dd and the Sims. I haven't done the latter in forever and now I want the Sims 2. It's on my wishlist. LOL :)
