FINDING NORTH

I will show you how to find the direction of north, where the star polaris is located nearby.

In this image you will find a constallation called Ursa Major or also known as the big dipper. Look for stars called Marak and Dubhe. After finding them, imagine drawing a line starting at Merak which heads towards Dubhe and pass through Dubhe, and keeps going. If you follow this imaginary line you come slightly near a star. This star is not that bright and is called polaris, or the north star as it is where the direction of north is. You now have found north.
