Current Projects

Introduction

As with most other modellers, I always seem to have a lot of projects "on the go" at any one time. This page shows you a sample of recently completed projects, works-in-progress, rough sketches for planned models and few ideas. Most recent project is shown first and older projects are shown on a subsequent page.

1/12th Scale Eaton Hall 4 Wheel Brake
Continuing on with Heywood's 15" gauge estate railways here is the Eaton Hall 4 Wheel Brake built from a Triassic Model Works kit.

1/12th Scale Eaton Hall "Top" Wagons
A new venture into the world of 1/12th scale models of Heywood's 15" gauge estate railways- five scratchbuilt Eaton Hall "Top" wagons.

Toolbox for Mamod Wagon
A fun little tinplate soldering project- a tool box that drops onto a Mamod flat wagon. Just the ticket for carrying tools for a little spring track maintenance.

Glyn Valley Guard's Van
A recently completed Glyn Valley guard's van in 16m scale, built from a Tenmille kit. Purists will note that it is painted in the standards colours for Algonquin Light Railway guard's vans, rather than Glyn Valley green.

Work Goose
A vintage model becomes a recent project. I built this battery powered 16mm scale O gauge work goose nearly 20 years ago. The Model A cab and engine cowl were from a Humbley metal car kit and the rest is scratchbuilt. Originally powered by two "Stomper" toys, it was repowered with IP Engineering mechanisms about 5 years ago. It was on the workbench to get a new switch and battery box.

1/24th Scale Luggage
A quick rainy day project was to paint up some Schomberg Scale Models castings of luggage to add some detail to the Portage Flyer's box cars.

Out in the Garden
The weather has been so nice that not much has been going on in the workshop. The garden is in full bloom, so time to run trains! "Dolgoch" heads a Talyllyn train.

16mm Scale Corris Coach
Just completed- a Perfect World 16mm Corris Railway coach. A delightful wood kit to build, and I did it up a as a first class coach, complete with a posh interior.
