This is the master garden of the convention. The planting is immediately south of the permanent display beds. George and Margaret have worked their garden for many years, but the gardens took off in 1998 when son Michael brought the internet into their world. There are now 30 acres of iris visible from the road. One problem was encountered prior to the convention - one set of beds had to be replanted the year previous due to a sudden chemical imbalance. Too much fertilizer does that to you, even in California. Fortunately the main beds weren't terribly hurt and the Sutton's provided an excellent overview of the convention guests. |
