the Roster

Paint Scheme: The Intermountain Rail System uses a two-tone grey paint scheme which contains elements of several of the railway’s past identities. The stripe which divides the grey sections is a nod to the Monashee Central, but the colour has been changed to CP red which symbolizes the close relationship between the two roads. The stripe includes a stylized rendition of a mountain range, denoting the railway’s location and heritage as the Canadian Rocky Mountain Belt. Road numbers are white, and are located directly rear of the cab, just below window height. The application of this scheme can vary according to locomotive type. For artists renditions, please see below. All locomotive drawings are courtesy of our friends at The Railroad Paint Shop.
