Dope Nose!!!

It should have been a normal morning on the set. The hobbits weren't there, but Hugo was just lounging around, not really doing much of anything. Ian was playing with his staff and John was talking about something or other. Viggo wasn't really paying attention.

For one thing, he was just on his second cup of coffee and was still more than half-asleep. For the other, he really wasn't sociable in the morning. Well, not unless two certain someones where around. If others tried... Liv tried and nearly got her head bitten off once and most of the cast had learned to let him be until he was more human.

So it seemed like an everyday morning. Until Sean Bean appeared, dressed in his full costume, running like his life depended on it.

"Sean?" Ian asked, standing up as he wondered why the hell the usually unflappable Yorkshire man was running. Especially at seven in the morning. Even Viggo noticed that.

"No time!" Was the only thing Sean said before he disappeared.

Ian looked around, but the other actors were as mystified as he was.

"What could possibly have Sean running like that this early in the morning?"

Ian mused as he sat down again. Hugo shook his head and was opening his mouth to speak when they indirectly got their answer in the form of an overly excited Orli zooming into the room in full Elven garb that was ruined by the unsightly old and ragged T-shirt that had the word "weezer" printed on the front in big, black letters that he had thrown over his costume.

The other men in the room just watched him go, not sure whether they really wanted to get involved in whatever it was that was happening between those two.

But the loud crash and yelps of pain that came from the outside was enough to make all of them, including Viggo, rush outside to see what the hell was going on.

The sight that met them was just..well. Weird. Even for them.

Orlando had somehow managed to knock Sean onto the ground and was now straddling him, his hands fisted in a bunch of Sean's Boromir costume as he yelled at the older man.

"You're coming with me, Beanie!"

Orlando shouted as he grabbed Sean's shirt and shook him to make his point.

"Get off me, Orli!"

Sean yelled back as he tried to get loose. With little success.

"You gotta come with me! Dom and billy backed out and I can't let these ticket go to waste! Weezer hasn't toured in ages and I really wanna see them!! Please?!!"

Orli's shouting had now become a pleading whine that made everyone watching wince.

"I told you! I don't like weezer! I don't want to go!"

Sean yelled back.

"Now get off of me, you damned elf!"

Orli shook his head and tightened his grip on Sean's shirt, his brown eyes narrowing in a look of pure, calculated evil that made the other men shudder.

"I'm not getting off until you agree to go."

Orli informed Sean, his tone as sweet as if he had swallowed honey.

Sean's eyes narrowed in return.

"And that's going to make me change my mind?"

The Yorkshire man asked, his voice dripping scorn with the question. The other cast members shuddered and drew back. Ian and Hugo were shaking their heads as they did so.

Poor Bean had no clue as to what he was getting into and they felt extremely sorry for him. But he had to learn, and it would be better that he learned right now than later.

Orli then leaned forward and smiled at the other man.

"And I'm going to sing "Particle Man" while I'm at it too!"

Sean shook his head, a look of pure panic on his face when Orli announced that.

"You wouldn't!!"

Orli's smile grew wider as he leaned even closer to Sean.

"You wanna bet?"

Sean glared at him, not ready to give up just yet. Orli shrugged, opened his mouth and..

"Particle man, particle man
Doing the things a particle can
What's he like? It's not important
Particle man..."

"Okay! OKAY! OKAY! I give up! I'll go with you to see weezer on Tuesday! Just STOP SINGING!!"

Jon and Viggo shook their heads as Orli got off of Sean and began jumping around excitedly, while Ian and Hugo helped a shaken Sean to his feet.

"You won't regret it Beanie! I promise! You're gonna love it!"

Orli promised, being all contrite now that he had gotten what he wanted from Bean. Sean, for his part, only nodded and let himself be led off to someone's trailer to be plied with tea and maybe something stronger, like whiskey.

"He should have never mentioned he's got a thing with that song."

Jon muttered to Viggo, who nodded.

"To be fair, he was drunk. And it was hard not to notice how it affected him."

Viggo defended his friend. It was kind of hard not to notice how much that song bothered Sean when he gave a screech like a squalled cat and crawled under the table when that song came on at one of the pubs they had been in. Most of them had luckily been too drunk to comment on the behaviour and hadn't minded. Much.

They stopped their whispering when they felt a hot, calculating look being aimed in their direction. Although both men wouldn't admit it, they knew that they were really fucked when they felt that hot glare on them. They also knew that they would do any cheap and low thing to escape it and its owner.

"Oh look, there's Pete. I gotta ask him something about my lines."

Jon said, pointing to the far side of the set, distracting Viggo before running off and leaving him to be pounced on by Orli.

"I'll go, Orli. Just get off me. I gotta pee."

Viggo told his younger cast-mate, his tone one of resignation as he found himself on the ground looking up at Orli, who was preparing to open his mouth and traumatize him into going.

Orli's mouth then opened and closed soundlessly before he blinked at Viggo.

"Uh. Okay. Sure. Shows at 7.30 this Tuesday."

Orli told him as he pressed two tickets into Viggo's hand before running off.

"Why did you give me two?"

Orli grinned. "I figure I traumatized Beanie too much already, so you should give him that ticket!"

Viggo sighed and sat up before looking up at the sky.

"You suck!"

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"Remind me again why we're here!!"

Sean yelled into Viggo's ear as a whole bunch of kids around them were jumping around and grooving in an almost simultaneous fashion to Pete Yorn.

"Cause we didn't run fast enough."

Viggo replied wryly as he tugged the dark blue concert shirt that Orli had insisted he buy.

"Trust me you guys! You gonna enjoy this!"

Orli had yelled as he dragged them to the merchandise booth and forced them to buy themselves a concert T-shirt before they headed down to the somewhat crowded mosh-pit that was full of somewhat nerdy kids. Most of whom were dressed alike in tuques, jumpers, plaid shirts and baggy cords with pumas and adidas trainers.

At least they somewhat blended in, since Orli had made them borrow some of his clothes before they headed off to the concert. This move had prompted Sean to lean over to Viggo while they were buying T-shirts and whisper:

"Gawd. At least we know where Orli gets his fashion sense."

Viggo had nodded, a small smile on his face despite his discomfort at the clothes. He felt like his son rather than the calm and collected person that he usually was.

Viggo was wearing a blue and white striped Tuque, a large black hoodie with a Celtic cross on the front, baggy blue cords and red gazelles. Sean had been dressed (to his extreme embarrassment) in a pair of baggy khakis, a really ugly green and black plaid shirt, a red Tuque and yellow and black pumas. Orli had dressed himself in a red and orange plaid shirt, his old weezer tee, black cords and beat up blue gazelles. His Tuque was a hideous green affair that strangely made him more appealing and younger looking than he usually did.

After they had stopped at the merch booth, they had put on their T-shirts, once again following Orli's orders in this matter.

"I feel really, really stupid."

Viggo had muttered as he tugged the dark blue t-shirt that had a caricature of weezer's lead singer, Rivers Cuomo as a masked and caped super-hero. Orli had bought himself a green T-shirt which had the band members around a guitar and Sean had snagged a bright red T-shirt with the band as badly drawn cartoons on the front.

After they had done this and managed to shove their way to almost the front of the pit, since all the kids were too busy either ogling Pete Yorn or smoking up, they then let the music try and relax them.

"You gotta groove more man!"

A girl yelled into Sean's ear as she jumped up and down beside him, her hands waving enthusiastically as Pete Yorn sang his way through another scorching song.

Sean nearly jumped about a foot in the air, making the kids around him cheer and join him, much to Viggo's amusement.

"VIGGO! Come on! Dance!"

Orli yelled, nudging him to get into the spirit of the music. The nudge nearly sent him flying, but he recovered nicely and began to actually get into the music after Pete's band broke into a blistery song that made Viggo remind himself to get his album later on.

After several more songs, which were even better than the ones before it, the lights came on and some Clash was piped into the venues as techies dismantled the stage and began to set it up for weezer.

"That was rocking man!!!"

The cry was taken up by all the kids as they began to babble excitedly about Rivers Cuomo, and the songs that they hoped to hear.

"I hope they Play El Scorcho man! I love that song!"

"Pinkerton rocks man! That's their best album!"

"Of course they're going to play Buddy Holly! DUH!"

Sean and Viggo kinda grinned at each other when they heard the last exclamation. Of course Orli had to get his two cents in. And be adorably snotty to boot.

"Excuse me! You gotta a lighter?"

A girl with long, dark reddish hair and black heavy framed glasses asked them, her face extremely hopeful as she did so.

"Aa.. Yeah."

Viggo replied as he fumbled in his pockets and pulled it out at the exact time that the lights went out.

A loud cheer rose from the crowd, but Viggo and Sean weren't paying attention. Viggo was too busy inhaling a joint while Sean and Orli shared one that the latter had just pulled out of his wallet and lit right before Weezer came on stage and began jumping right into the chords of "My name is Jonas"

"Trust me man! It'll make it twice as good!"

Orli told Sean as he took his own toke and gave it to the older man.

Sean took a deep hoot and held it in, closing his eyes to feel the thrumming bass line.

//My name is Jonas

I'm carrying the wheel

Thanks for all you've shown us

But this if how we feel

Come sit next to me

Pour yourself some tea..///

Oh man! Sean thought fuzzily as he exhaled and took another hoot. This was awesome! The song just felt like it was crawling into his skin, all thick and warm-like. Oh hell yeah!

For Viggo, the epiphany came at the next song, when he was more than a little high and his lips felt strangely swollen from the dope he had shared with the girl and her friend.

//For the times That you wanna go

And bust rhymes real slow

I'll appear Slap you on the face

And enjoy the show//

He didn't know what kind of stuff Rivers Cuomo did, but fuck, it was amazing! How the hell did he make that song so freaking meaningful and lively at the same time..Holy Shit!

The song ended after that, and Rivers then asked whether someone would throw a symbol.

"A symbol?"

He asked the crowd several times before a Tuque was thrown on stage, which Rivers immediately put on before ripping into the other song.

"OH GOD! They're playing "The Good life"!!"

Orli shouted as he began to bop around with the others, passing the last of his joint over to Sean, who took a couple of hoots and passed it back to Orli.

//Don't wanna be a lone man anymore

It's been a year or two since I was out on the floor

Shakin' booty, makin' sweet love all the night

It's time I got back to the Good Life

It's time I got back..//

"Pinkerton!!"

Someone shouted, grabbing Viggo and making him jump with him. Viggo, too dazed to argue, began jumping around until someone else grabbed him and began passing him over the rest of the crowd of hands.

"I see you're ready!!!"

Rivers yelled into the crowd as the band then launched into another crowd favourite.

//The Sea is foaming like a bottle of beer

The wave is comin' but I ain't got no fear

I'm waxin' down so that I'll go real fast

I'm waxin' down because it's really a blast

I'm goin' surfin' cuz I don't like your face

I'm bailin' out because I hate the race of

Ratts that run Round and Round in the maze

I'm goin' surfin', I'm goin' surfin'! ..//

"YEAH!" Viggo heard Orli yell as he was passed around. Craning his head, he then saw Orli egging the crowd to pass him on even further as the song geared up even more.

"Holy hell!" He heard himself yell out as he crowd-surfed. Shit. The guys wouldn't believe this if he told them what they were doing at the concert. Hell, he could hardly believe it himself.

The bigger shock was seeing Bean up there as well, his arms in the air and his mouth open in a shout as he rode the wave that pushed him forward to the stage.

Viggo's only regret as he was handed down and pushed to regain his space on the floor was that he didn't have a camera. It would have been utterly priceless to have picture of Sean like that!

He was really surprised to find Orli and Sean together when he had shoved his way into the mosh-pit again. Both were giggling like mad and cheering the band on as loudly as the people around them. He rushed to them and immediately joined in, the cheering way too infectious not to join in on.

The crowd kind of got quieter when the next song began to play, a whole lot of the crowd's yelling turning into a cheer of appreciation as the first lines began to play.

//When you're on a holiday

You can't find the words to say

All the things that come to you

and I wanna feel them too//

The whole crowd began to sway as one entity as the lights on the stage, which had either been blue or green, now blended into a deep greenish blue that made Viggo think of the sea, which was fitting, considering that the song talked about being in islands.

It also made him feel like...boneless. Free. Like he was in another place where everything was alright. Where nothing could go wrong ever.

As he was contemplating these emotions, an arm slid around his shoulders, making him look up into the dilated eyes of Sean. One look into those nearly black eyes made him aware that Sean somehow knew what he was feeling. The cool look on his face was gone and had been replaced by a dreamy, very mellow look that Viggo felt suited him better.

He felt that so strongly that he leaned over and kissed him, not caring what the consequences of that action would be.

//On an Island in the sun

We'll be playing and having fun

and it makes me feel so fine

I can't control my brain//

The kiss was broken off by Orli, who grinned an evil little grin before he gave him a scorching kiss that was all tongue and lips before turning to a blinking Sean and giving him the same treatment.

"I can't control my brain." Orli mouthed to him afterwards, a strange shimmer in his dark eyes.

Viggo and Sean only looked at each other, the same question in their minds:

"So what do we do?"

If he had been sober, Viggo would have laughed it off with some comment and gone on. Sean would have just pretended nothing had happened. But neither were exactly sober and the song had a very interesting effect on them.

Which would explain why they looked at each other and started kissing again. This time though, the kiss was more tender, more probing as they really got into it. Viggo thought for a brief bit that Sean tasted like oranges before he was dragged down into a swirling void created by weezer and the pot and the faint scent of ck one cologne emanating from Sean.

They didn't break off abruptly like last time. Rather, it was a slow move that caused Sean to shiver at the feel of Viggo's lips pulling away from his. That kiss had been quite amazing and he was sorry that it had to end so soon. Just like the song, which segued into a faster, unknown tune.

//Any day now you'll call me up on the phone

Say you love me more than you ever did before

It's all that I can do right now

To make it up to you somehow

And meet you on the other side of home..//

Orli jumped them, a knowing smile on his face that made both men, for some inexplicable reason, hug him close to themselves.

"Liking it?" He asked, his eyes alight with both mischief and something more adult in their depths.

Viggo nodded and Sean grinned before he kissed Orli.

"You planned it like this, didn't you?" He asked Orli before pulling away from him.

Orli smiled back in return. The smile of a predator that has just finally pinned down its prey.

Viggo snorted and shook his head, but there was a broad smile on his face. It seemed that the boy wasn't as dense as they had thought him to be.

Their ruminations were broken by a loud cheer from the crowd when the strains of the "Sweater song" began to be heard.

//If you want to destroy my sweater

Pull this thread as I walk away

Watch me unravel

I'll soon be naked..//

The crowd surfing started up again and Viggo and Sean were both grabbed for one final trip around the arena before the lights went pitch black and changed to a deep, almost purple blue.

This time, it didn't take them long to find each other, since Orli had somehow gotten a hold of a glow-stick and was waving it around frantically.

"Just listen."

He urged them before he stood between them and looked up to the stage.

//You can't resist her

She's in your bones

She's in your marrow

she's your ride home//

Orli just seemed to float away at the song. The lyrics were adding to the strange atmosphere of it being surreal and stuck in that place between dreaming and waking. Like they had been quietly transported to another place when they hadn't been looking.//You can't avoid her
She's in the air
In between molecules
Of Oxygen and Carbon dioxide//

It was the description of a perfect dream love. The kind that you lie awake for hours on end trying to decipher, trying to imagine what it would be like to live with that person if the possibility was presented to you, Viggo mused as he clung onto Sean and Orli.

//Only in dreams
We see what it means
Reach out our hands
Hold on to hers//

That was why they were all clinging onto each other so strongly. The fear of floating away and not having any grounding anywhere was so real that they needed to feel the touch of a warm hand before it all just turned into a murky mess that they wouldn't be able to find their way out of.
//But when we wake
It's all been erased
And so it seems
Only in dreams//

Sean shook his head at the last line, as if negating that fact. He couldn't bear to think that it could only happen in a dream scape, all of the emotions that he was feeling. That he was going to walk out of the concert and forget all that had happened here. He wasn't going to let it happen. No way.
//You walk up to her
Ask her to dance
She says "Hey, baby
I just might take the chance"//

Orli smiled at that. He had, in a way, done that exact thing. He had been afraid of getting a loud and resounding "NO" from the two men that were now beside him. And he had to admit that he was surprised they had come. And experienced the music in such a strong way.
//You say "It's a good thing
That you float in the air
That way there's no way
I will crush your pretty toenails into a thousand pieces"//

Viggo sort of laughed at that verse as he then cast a look at the two men that were singing along, their eyes locked on the stage as they moved in a synchronised rhythm with everyone else, the connection that had been started by "Island in the sun" had now been strengthened by the dreamy ballad and the awesome guitar work the band was infusing it with. He laughed because it made him think about how he saw Sean and Orli.

He knew that both had this core of inner strength and were probably more hardier than he was. But he couldn't help thinking of them as ethereal beings that weren't really on the ground, but always in danger of floating away. Or in danger of flying away from him if he didn't grip or look at them long enough.
//Only in dreams
We see what it means
Reach out our hands
Hold on to hers//

That thought was the one that spurred him to grip the other two closer to him. He needed to feel them next to him. To wake up next to them and be reassured by their presence beside him. To laugh with them. To listen to Orli's wild stories and Sean's quiet, self-deprecating humour.
//But when we wake
It's all been erased
And so it seems
Only in dreams//

The stage lights exploded, the weezer logos on the stage and above it having lit up brightly to complement the rising crescendo of the guitars, which were then accompanied by a large pile of confetti fluttering over the crowd; bathing them with what allegorically could be called fragments of dreams.

Viggo smiled and cheered along with everyone else. He could appreciate the symbolism of the confetti as much as the other person. The only problem was that it would soon be over. And they would just have memories of what happened here.
//Only in dreams...//

Viggo and the other two men looked at each other. Was what they shared on this dirty, concrete floor a dream they had to wake from? A closeness that would be melted away once they were outside in the daylight?

Orli's mouth curled into a small smile before he leaned forward and first kissed Viggo, then Sean with such infinite tenderness that made both men nearly cry.

The low bass line thrummed. Then the lights went out.

END.

All songs were written by Rivers Cuomo and weezer.
