What is The CHD Awareness Quilt Project?

The CHD Awareness Quilt is a project that was created to promote greater public
awareness of Congenital Heart Disorders (CHD), while honoring their
strength, courage, and commitment of all those born
with a CHD and their families.

How did it get started?

As with any project, The CHD Awareness Quilt Project, inc. started as the dream
of one woman to promote CHD awareness and has blossomed into a reality
with the dedication and commitment of a network of volunteers world-wide.

Can I request a block for my CHD'er?

The CHD Awareness Quilts are being constructed as a series
of quilts. Each quilt is constructed of 42 blocks, with each block
representing one CHDer. All of the work that goes into the CHD
Awareness Quilts is done purely by volunteer efforts.

Quilt Stats: Currently, there are 734 names of CHDers
that are included in this project. Of those 734,
186 are "angels", 40 have pacemakers, and 16 have had
heart transplants. The list continues to grow daily.

There are 47 out of the 50 United States that are represented.
The following Countries are also represented: Australia, Canada,
Denmark, Dominican Republic, England, France, Germany,
India, Iran, Ireland, Spain, and New Zealand.
