Monogram F-5F Tiger II Aggressor
AMT F-5E Tiger II

My next two projects will more than likely be done simultaneously as the both of them are similar in shape. One's a two seater, the other's a single-seater. Both are going to be done in US Navy Aggressor squadron colors. Right now, I currently plan to do the F-5F OOB (out of box) and the F-5E in Lieutenant Commander C.J. "Heater" Heatley's Aggressor aircraft colors. He was one of my childhood idols after he wrote the premiere coffee-table book on Navy Aircraft "The Cutting Edge". I could only find one picture of Heater on the Internet so I hope that Heater will find it in his heart to forgive me for SCANNING (horrors of horrors, copyright infringement) his picture from the back leaf of his book. I just wanted other people to know that Heater that was a fighter pilot, not just as the Titan baseball player.

THE MODELS

Detail-wise, the F-5F is a good model kit, coming from Monogram. There are the general few raised panel lines, and that is to be expected. However that's nothing a good scriber can't remedy. This kit is going to be done OOB, without the resin seats, just purely as is.

The other kit from AMT has the decals for Heater's F-5E that he used during his stint at Top Gun as a Lieutenant Commander. Plus it also gives the proper colors of Heater's aircraft. Hopefully I can get the camoflage on this bird right and it will be as good as the original as pictured in another picture that Heater took of his own aircraft here.

Here are the parts sprues for the AMT kit.
