h~History of making sweets~

Making/baking sweets became one of my hobby since I was in woman's highschool. Before that I was a tomboy! I used to love making sweets on Valentine's dayfor boy I like. In Japan, girls give chocolate to boys, which is opposite to western. But I don't have any good memories about it.Because somehow I always failed to make sweets on the day before then end up giving bad taste cakes/chocolate to the boy.Oneday I failed to melt chocolate and made the choc awful taste. But it was the day before the Valentine's day so I had no choice but giving to the boy. I don't think it's only a reason why but we didn't go out after all lol however on White day,the boy gave me a cute small backet with some candies in return. It was grade 5!

~Now and Then~

Now I bake cookies with western recipes coz my hubby likes western type of it than japanese ones.Japanese cookies are like non-fatty simple short bread.Western cookies are rich and soft on the otherhand. But honestly,I still prefer Japanese cookies. For pie pastries,I used to knead by myself but not anymore. My kitchen is not big enough to knead the pastry and I'll make mess if I do.My mom used to say I might as well learn cooking and sawing somewhere but I wasn't interested in it at that time. Now I think it was a good idea.I should have done that! Aww

~Hubby's Mom's recipes~

My hubby's mom makes very tasty sweets.I wanted to know how to make them and got some recipes from her.But it's all kinda hard to me...Like,sweets for X'mas. That are traditional western sweets and not familiar to me at all.I would like to master that one day!
