Vintage clockwork mechanisms make excellent fodder for delightful 16 mm scale narrow gauge locomotives. Here a few examples to amuse and inspire.

New! Colin Binnie photographed this wonderful beast at a garden railway meet in the UK. Obviously built around a Basset Lowke 6-coupled mechanism, little else is known about the model or the builder. Any information would be most welcomed!






 Peter Jones is the creator of the legendary Compton Down Railway in Wales. Some 50 years ago, Peter built his first 16mm scale narrow locomotive around a Hornby Model 40 locomotive. Arguably, it is the oldest known 16mm scale locomotive model. A few years ago, he built a replica of that historic model and it is shown below in all is charming splendor.
